Each product has a specific line configuration.

Orders are usually grouped until a minimum production volume for a specific model is obtained, and then the line, the people and the materials are prepared in order to manufacture it during certain hours with a specific cycle.

Multi-Product Line Balancing (Mix)

Line balancing with mixed models is characterised by having several ranges of the same product being assembled or manufactured in a combined and alternating way. Not all models that go through the line are the same and not all have the same workload. Average saturation is needed.

Manufacturing or Assembly Cell Balancing

Manufacturing or assembly cells are composed of a series of workstations or machines, where specific tasks are processed with cycle times or process times that are difficult to divide up and therefore have different workloads. To balance them, operators need to move among the various positions of the cell.

You therefore need to have different simulations of task distribution based on the precise production volumes at any given time.

This concept provides huge flexibility since it can produce different production volumes in the same cell, depending on the number of people who join it, without the need for configuration changes.

Multi-Operator Stations Balancing

These are assembly lines that have work cycles (Takt Time) with different times or even work shifts.

These types of lines are formed by a series of workstations that carry out various operations that are previously assigned depending on the machinery, tools or materials.

During the duration of a work cycle (for example, 7 hours), different specialised workers go in and out of the stations in a variety of tasks. Thus, at the end of the Takt, all the tasks assigned to each of the workstations must have been carried out in order to move the product on to the next station.

The idea is to synchronise the tasks among people and stations to guarantee work organisation (process progress and saturation of people) during every hour that the product is in each of them.
